Jesus Tapia-Serrano Dies in Solo-Car Crash on 16th Avenue [Phoenix, AZ]
38-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Single-Vehicle Collision near Van Buren Street
PHOENIX, AZ (January 9, 2025) – Early Wednesday afternoon, Jesus Tapia-Serrano was killed in a solo-car crash on 16th Avenue.
Authorities responded to the scene around 1:20 p.m., near Van Buren Street on January 1st.
According to Phoenix Police Department troopers, Tapia-Serrano was driving west on Van Buren Street and lost control of his vehicle for reasons unknown.
Tapia-Serrano’s vehicle then crashed into a pole, causing his vehicle to overturn and land on its roof.
Emergency responders quickly transported 38-year-old Tapia-Serrano to a nearby hospital where he later died.
During cleanup and preliminary duties, police blocked the area while they cleared the wreck and it was later reopened.
