One Pronounced Dead after Wrong-Way Accident near State Highway 305

POULSBO, WA (January 9, 2025) – Wednesday morning, one driver was killed in a head-on collision on Viking Avenue Northwest.

Dispatchers received calls around 9:00 p.m., at the 16200 block of Viking Avenue Northwest near State Highway 305 on December 25th.

According to Kitsap County sheriff’s deputies, the incident involved a 2008 Suzuki driven by a man and a 2019 Toyota Highlander occupied by two people.

Furthermore, troopers determined that the Suzuki was heading south and attempted to pass another vehicle in the northbound lanes. However, the Suzuki failed to return to the southbound lanes in time, resulting in a head-on collision with a Toyota Highlander.

Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced the Suzuki driver dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their name or place of residency.

Meanwhile, the occupants from inside the Toyota sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Paramedics took them to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Following preliminary duties, crews believe speed and impairment were potential factors. An active investigation to determine further information about the fatal head-on collision on Viking Avenue Northwest is still currently underway.
