Woman Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Chelsea Avenue

SANTA MONICA, CA (January 8, 2025) – Sunday evening, one woman was fatally struck in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Wilshire Boulevard.

Responding personnel arrived to the scene around 6:40 p.m., near Chelsea Avenue and Douglas Park.

Based on the initial investigation, an eastbound white Toyota Rav4 hit a woman who was crossing Wilshire in a south direction. 

Responding EMTs declared the female pedestrian dead at the scene. Officials only identified the deceased victim as a female Santa Monica resident and a Vietnam War veteran. 

Per reports, witnesses spotted the suspect traveling eastbound on Wilshire Boulevard at a high rate of speed.
