2 Dead, 3 Others Hospitalized after Wrong-Way Crash near North San Rafael Avenue

PASADENA, CA (January 8, 2025) – Sunday morning, a multi-car crash along 134 Freeway claimed the life of William Yost and one other person.

Authorities received calls around 8:10 a.m., on the westbound lanes of the freeway near North San Rafael Avenue.

Responding crews determined that the driver of an eastbound vehicle veered into oncoming lanes. There, the wrong-way vehicle collided with a white sedan, a silver minivan and two other cars.

Additionally, the impact of the collision caused one of the involved cars to catch on fire. 

Responding emergency personnel pronounced two people involved dead at the scene. Later, the medical examiner’s office identified one of the deceased victims as 31-year-old William Yost.

Paramedics also transported three other people to hospitals with unspecified injuries. 

At this time, Pasadena Officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the multi-vehicle crash.
