19-Year-Old Man Dies in Rear-End Accident near Meridian Road
APACHE JUNCTION, AZ (January 8, 2025) – Thursday evening, Luis Daniel Pacheco was killed in a rear-end collision on US Highway 60.
First responders arrived to the scene around 6:00 p.m., near Meridian Road on December 26th.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety says the driver of a vehicle rear-ended Pacheco while traveling east on the highway. The impact pushed Pacheco into the barrier, causing his vehicle to overturn and come to rest in the westbound lanes.
Investigators say Pacheco was not wearing a seat belt at the time. Emergency responders transported 19-year-old Pacheco to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Moreover, troopers stated that alcohol was not ruled out as a potential factor, and further investigation is still ongoing. Once available, further details will be provided.
