19-Year-Old Woman and 20-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Collision near Buena Vista Avenue

SAN DIEGO, CA (January 7, 2025) – Wednesday, Nadia Charles and Junior Joseph Saint-Juste died in a pedestrian accident on Broadway Avenue.

Dispatchers received calls around 11:17 a.m., near Buena Vista Avenue.

According to reports, two vehicles hit two pedestrians who were attempting to cross the street. Despite life-saving efforts, first responders pronounced two pedestrians dead at the scene. 

Meanwhile, paramedics transported the occupants of both vehicles to hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the driver and passenger of the silver Toyota Prius sustained minor injuries. 

Meanwhile, the driver of the gray Acura suffered from major injuries. 

Authorities later identified the deceased victims as 20-year-old Junior Joseph Saint-Juste and 19-year-old Nadia Charles. Charles and Saint-Juste grew up together in the Haitian commune of Cabaret and immigrated to San Diego a year ago. 

The families of the deceased victims set up a GoFundMe page to help with costs during this difficult time.
