Infant Dead, 3 Hospitalized after Head-On Accident on Vincent Road [Merced County, CA]
8-Month-Old Girl Dead, Three Adults Injured Two-Vehicle Crash near Harding Road
MERCED COUNTY, CA (December 31, 2024) – Tuesday evening, an infant lost her life and three were hurt a head-on accident on Vincent Road.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene around 8:30 p.m., just north of Harding Road.
According to reports, a 20-year-old Delhi man driving a gray Honda Civic veered onto the shoulder of Vincent Road.
Afterward, the Civic continued in an easterly direction and crossed into oncoming lanes.
The Civic then collided with a northbound Toyota Highlander, driven by a 43-year-old Turlock woman. The impact of the crash caused the Civic to crash into a wrought iron fence, while the Toyota came to a stop and blocked both lanes of Vincent Road.
Medics transported the driver and the 20-year-old female passenger of the Honda to local hospitals for treatment of major injuries. An eight-month-old female infant in the Honda was also hospitalized but later succumbed to her injuries.
Paramedics also rushed the Toyota driver to a hospital in Modesto for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Merced County Officials continue to investigate the deadly Vincent Road head-on crash.
