33-Year-Old Hit-and-Run Suspect Arrested after Fatal Pedestrian Collision on Corporate Drive

ARLINGTON, TX (December 30, 2024) – Sunday, Kiara Valdez and Jahlil Kirkland died and Nathan Vaughan was arrested after a hit-and-run crash.

The incident happened at the intersection of East Lamar Boulevard and Corporate Drive on December 15th.

Per reports, 33-year-old Vaughan was driving a silver Chevrolet Malibu and veered off the road onto the sidewalk. There, the Chevy struck Valdez and Kirkland who were walking on the sidewalk.

First responders located the two pedestrians unresponsive on the road. Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced 23-year-old Valdez and 22-year-old Kirkland dead at the scene.

Upon impact, Vaughan fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting authorities. Luckily, a witness was able to see the vehicle and tipped police.

Following preliminary duties, officers say Vaughan cooperated with the investigation and said he thought he struck a light pole.

Police arrested 33-year-old Vaughan and took him into the Arlington City Jail, before being transferred to Tarrant County Jail where he faced two counts of hit-and-run involving death and other related charges.
