17-Year-Old Female Passenger Dies in Two-Vehicle Collision near Bell Road

PHOENIX, AZ (December 26, 2024) – Friday afternoon, a fatal two-vehicle collision on 51st Avenue resulted in the death of Beyonce Vasquez.

Emergency crews responded to the scene around 1:00 p.m., near Bell Road on December 20th.

Investigators say the driver of an SUV struck a vehicle, driven by a teen boy, that was attempting to turn at the intersection.

The 17-year-old female passenger of the other vehicle, Vasquez suffered life-threatening injuries. Paramedics rushed her and the teen boy to a nearby hospital where Vasquez later passed away.

Meanwhile, medics listed the other teenager in stable condition.

Following preliminary duties, investigators say the impact also sent one of the vehicles into a parked bus that was occupied by its driver and several students. However, they remained uninjured.

Police officers do not believe that impairment played a factor. Although, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
