53-Year-Old Male Driver Fatally Struck in Pile-Up Collision near South Centinela Avenue
LOS ANGELES, CA (December 18, 2024) – Thursday night, a multi-car crash on Olympic Boulevard killed Karsten Gopinath and left another hurt.
The Los Angeles Police Department received calls around 7:35 p.m., near South Centinela Avenue.
Officers determined that Gopinath was driving a Tesla west on Olympic Boulevard and struck an eastbound vehicle that was attempting to turn onto southbound Centinela Avenue.
First responders reported at least six vehicles involved in the wreckage. Medical personnel also declared one of the drivers, identified as 53-year-old Gopinath, dead at the scene.
Paramedics also transported another occupant to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries.
The LAPD closed the Olympic Boulevard between Cetinela Avenue and Stewart Street as crews cleared the scene.
