28-Year-Old Female Passenger Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near Lyons

BURLESON COUNTY, TX (December 18, 2024) – Monday, Asia Debrow was killed and multiple were hurt in a 2-car accident on State Highway 36.

First responders arrived to the scene around 7:00 p.m., about one mile north of Lyons on December 2nd.

According to reports, the driver of a 2025 Honda Civic attempted to pass a 2016 Kia Optima in a no-passing zone.

The Honda then crashed into the Kia, causing life-threatening injuries to a passenger inside the Honda. Due to the extent of her condition, responding medics pronounced 28-year-old Debrow, of Brenham dead at the scene.

Medics also took the Kia driver to CHI St. Joseph Regional in Bryon with minor injuries. In addition, crews airlifted another passenger from the Kia Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Temple with serious injuries.

Meanwhile, authorities airlifted a 5-year-old boy and an 8-year-old boy to McLane Children’s Hospital in Temple with serious injuries. Investigators say three helicopters were called to the scene.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
