25-Year-Old Cyclist Dies in Hit-and-Run Collision near John Street
JACKSONVILLE, TX (December 16, 2024) – Wednesday night, Tayedryian Baker was killed in a hit-and-run electric-bicycle crash on Austin Street.
Dispatchers received calls around 9:00 p.m., at the 1000 block of Austin near John Street on December 4th.
According to the Jacksonville Police Department, a vehicle struck Baker who was operating an electric scooter in the area. Upon impact, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting authorities.
Paramedics arrived and transported 25-year-old Baker to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
At this time, the suspect remains at large and no description is available.
