34-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near South Johnson Street
KENNEWICK, WA (December 16, 2024) – Tuesday evening, a pedestrian accident on 10th Avenue claimed the life of Rona Bowles.
First responders arrived to the scene around 7:00 p.m., near South Johnson Street on December 3rd.
According to the Kennewick Police Department, the driver of a vehicle struck Bowles as she was crossing the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk.
Upon impact, the driver left the scene for a short distance and called 911. Paramedics arrived and transported 34-year-old Bowles to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
During preliminary duties, officers evaluated the driver and did not suspect impairment to be a factor. No charges were filed against the driver.
At this time, no updates were made public by authorities, and witnesses are urged to contact the authorities at their non-emergency dispatch at 509-628-0333.
