Woman and Teenager Dead, Jose Gutierrez Arrested after Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Collision on Interstate 10 [El Paso, TX]
33-Year-Old Woman and 15-Year-Old Girl Killed in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash near Exit 21
EL PASO, TX (December 12, 2024) – Saturday, two people died and Jose Gutierrez was arrested after a pedestrian collision on Interstate 10.
The El Paso Police Department responded to the scene around 12:30 a.m., near Exit 21 on November 16th.
Troopers say Gutierrez was driving a 2002 silver Mitsubishi Montero and struck a 33-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl were crossing from south to north.
Shortly after, another vehicle struck both victims. Crews described the second vehicle as possibly a silver SUV or minivan with Texas license plates.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced both pedestrians dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their identities.
During cleanup and preliminary duties, 56-year-old Jose Antonio Gutierrez remained at the scene to cooperate.
Further investigation is still ongoing as of this time, and witnesses are urged to call the El Paso Police Department as soon as possible.
