Male Cyclist Pronounced Dead after SUV vs Bicycle Collision near Del Paso Boulevard

SACRAMENTO, CA (December 12, 2024) – Thursday afternoon, one man was pronounced dead after a bicycle accident on Northgate Boulevard. 

Police officers received dispatch calls around 12:04 p.m., near Del Paso Boulevard and Highway 160.

California Highway Patrol officers say the male driver of a northbound Ford Bronco struck a bicyclist who was approaching Del Paso Boulevard. 

Investigators say the biker pulled directly into the Bronco’s path, resulting in a collision. The crash ejected the man from his bicycle, onto the SUV’s windshield. 

Medical responders transported the cyclist to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities have not yet released his name or place of residency.  

Meanwhile, the driver of the Bronco stayed at the site of the crash and cooperated with the investigation.
