Suspect at Large after Fatal Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Collision near Bienville Drive

SAN ANTONIO, TX (December 12, 2024) – Friday evening, one victim was fatally struck in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on North Weidner Road.

The San Antonio Police Department responded to the scene around 11:00 p.m., at the 400 block of North Weidner Road near Bienville Drive on November 22nd.

First responders arrived to the southbound lanes of the freeway and located a woman down on the road.

Investigators say the driver of a southbound vehicle struck the female pedestrian who was walking on the southbound sidewalk.

Upon impact, the driver did not stop to aid the victim and immediately fled the scene. At this time, no information was released regarding the suspect’s whereabouts.

Meanwhile, paramedics transported the woman to a nearby hospital in critical condition where she later succumbed to her injuries. Authorities have not yet released her identity.

Emergency crews shut down the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information about the fatal pedestrian crash on North Weidner Road is still currently underway.
