41-Year-Old Canoga Park Man Killed in Pedestrian Collision near Gresham Street

LOS ANGELES, CA (December 11, 2024) – Friday evening, a hit-and-run collision on De Soto Avenue claimed the life of Markus Caldwell. 

Dispatchers received calls around 5:15 p.m., just north of Gresham Street.

Officers determined that the driver of a gray or silver vehicle hit a man who was crossing De Soto in a westerly direction. 

In addition, the unidentified vehicle continued traveling southbound without helping the victim.

Despite life-saving efforts, medical responders pronounced the male pedestrian at the scene. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner later identified the deceased victim as 41-year-old Caldwell, of Canoga Park. 

At this time, the city is offering a reward of up to $50,000 to anyone who can lead the authorities to the arrest of the suspect.
