Arizona Senate Candidate John McLean Dead, Michael Creel Arrested after DUI Crash on Broadway Road [Tucson, AZ]
68-Year-Old Man Killed, 27-Year-Old Man Charged after DUI Collision near Houghton Road
TUCSON, AZ (December 11, 2024) – Friday, Arizona Senate Candidate John McLean was killed and Michael Creel was arrested after a DUI crash.
Around 6:00 a.m., police officers responded to the scene near Broadway and Houghton Road on November 15th.
Per reports, Creel was driving a 2018 Ford Explorer and ran through a stop sign at the intersection while traveling at a high rate of speed. As a result, the Ford struck a 2019 Toyota Rav4.
Despite life-saving efforts, medical personnel later pronounced the driver of the Toyota, 68-year-old McLean deceased at the scene.
Meanwhile, authorities arrested and booked 27-year-old Michael Martin Creel into the Pima County Jail with manslaughter and DUI related charges.
Emergency crews shut down the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
