Unidentified Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Sunrise Boulevard

FAIR OAKS, CA (December 10, 2024) – Sunday evening, one man was fatally struck in a pedestrian accident on Madison Avenue.

Dispatchers received calls around 7:20 p.m., near Sunrise Boulevard, just southeast of Citrus Heights.

Investigators say the driver of an eastbound Toyota sedan struck a man who attempted to cross the road outside of a marked crosswalk.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the male victim dead at the scene.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased victim once available. 

Police said the involved driver remained at the site of the crash and cooperated with officers. Emergency crews shut down the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.
