82-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Accident near Bell Road
PHOENIX, AZ (December 9, 2024) – Sunday evening, Vera Sihirlic was fatally struck in a pedestrian collision on 3rd Street.
Phoenix Police Officers responded to the scene around 7:45 p.m., near Bell Road on December 1st.
Investigators say Sihirlic was crossing within a marked crosswalk with a green light. However, the light changed before she was able to make it to the other side.
There, the male driver of an eastbound vehicle struck 82-year-old Sihirlic. Despite life-saving efforts, medics later pronounced Sihirlic deceased at the scene.
Meanwhile, the involved driver cooperated with the investigation. Police did not suspect impairment as a potential factor, and further investigation took place.
