50-Year-Old Suspect Arrested after Deadly Pedestrian Crash near Turnstone Drive
SACRAMENTO, CA (December 9, 2024) – Friday evening, Jose Guizar Diaz was arrested after a fatal pedestrian collision on Northgate Boulevard.
Dispatchers received calls around 8:00 p.m., near Turnstone Drive on November 29th.
Sacramento Police Officers say Diaz was driving a vehicle and struck a woman who was walking at the intersection.
Upon arrival, first responders located the female pedestrian on the roadway with life-threatening injuries.
Due to the extent of her condition, medics pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
Emergency crews shut down the surrounding area for a brief time during clearing operations. During preliminary duties, troopers determined that Diaz was impaired.
As a result, police officers arrested and booked 50-year-old Jose Guizar Diaz into the Sacramento County Main Jail for DUI-related charges.
