Female Passenger Pronounced Dead after Rollover Collision near Gilman Road

LAKEHEAD, CA (December 9, 2024) – Friday, Christopher Ainsworth was hurt and his passenger was killed in a solo-car crash on Statton Road.

The incident happened at the intersection of Statton and Gilman Road around 11:30 a.m., on November 29th.

According to reports, Ainsworth was driving a white 2001 Jeep Cherokee east on Gilman Road and lost control for reasons unknown.

As a result, the vehicle overturned into Salt Creek, before landing on its roof. After the impact, Ainsworth was able to extricate himself from the vehicle. However, his female passenger was unable to free herself.

Due to the extent of her condition, medics pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, paramedics transported 45-year-old Ainsworth to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries. No updates were made on his condition.

Authorities did not suspect alcohol or drugs as a potential factor in the collision. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
