62-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Pickup-Truck Vs. Sedan Collision near Scofield Avenue

BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 5, 2024)Filamer Barayuga Simpliciano was one of three people killed in a 2-car accident on Elmo Highway.

First responders arrived to the scene around 4:26 p.m., near Scofield Avenue on October 14th.

According to initial reports, an eastbound gray 2016 Ram 3500 collided with a silver 1993 Toyota Camry that was heading northbound on Scofield. 

First responders pronounced the driver and two passengers inside the Toyota dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics rushed the driver of the Ram pickup-truck to Kern Medical with minor to moderate injuries.

The Kern County Coroner’s Office later identified one of the deceased victims as 62-year-old Filamer Barayuga Simpliciano of Wasco.

Bakersfield Officials will provide more information about the fatal Elmo Highway two-vehicle crash once it is available.
