One Fatally Struck in Fiery Car Crash near Tustin Ranch Road
TUSTIN, CA (December 5, 2024) – Early Monday morning, one victim was pronounced dead after a multi-car collision on 5 freeway.
Authorities responded to the scene around 3:10 a.m., on the northbound lanes of the freeway just south of Tustin Ranch Road.
California Highway Patrol officers say the driver of an SUV collided with a concrete divider, damaging about 10 feet of the concrete barrier.
The impact of the crash caused the SUV to catch fire and scatter debris across both sides of the freeway.
Additionally, one witness claimed that they spotted a red sedan traveling recklessly prior to the collision. At this time, further circumstances leading up to the fatal incident remain under investigation.
In the end, officials placed a SigAlert in all the northbound lanes of 5 Freeway and diverted traffic off Jamboree Road.
