Police Pursuit Ends in Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision near Haskell Avenue

LOS ANGELES, CA (December 4, 2024) – Saturday, Cristina David died and Kevin Larrea was arrested after a car crash on West Saticoy Street.

Dispatchers received calls around 1:40 p.m., at the 20500 block of West Saticoy Street near Haskell Avenue.

Based on the police report, officers attempted to pull over an allegedly stolen Mercedes-Benz when it fled at a high rate of speed near Corwin and Vanowen Street.

Subsequently, the suspect collided with a Tesla traveling westbound on Saticoy. The impact caused the Tesla to hit two other uninvolved vehicles at the Saticoy Street and Mason Avenue intersection. 

Responding emergency personnel pronounced the Tesla driver – 46-year-old West Hills woman Cristina David– dead at the scene. Three other parties also sustained injuries from the incident. 

Witnesses said the driver of the stolen vehicle attempted to flee on foot but was immediately arrested. Police booked 42-year-old Kevin Joseph Larrea into jail for several charges including murder.
