Stephanie Whitton Dead, Phillip Whitton Hospitalized after High-Speed Crash on State Highway 180 [Parker County, TX]
34-Year-Old Passenger Fatally Injured in Rear-End Collision near Mile Marker 544
PARKER COUNTY, TX (December 3, 2024) – Thursday, Stephanie Whitton was killed and Phillip Whitton was hurt in a crash on State Highway 180.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:00 a.m., on the eastbound lanes of the freeway near mile marker 544 on November 20th.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Phillip was driving a Kia Soul with Stephanie as a passenger, heading eastbound behind a tractor-trailer.
For reasons under investigation, Phillip lost control and rear-ended the truck, causing life-threatening injuries to both occupants.
Due to the impact of the collision, 34-year-old Stephanie succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics transported 39-year-old Phillip to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.
In addition, the truck driver remained uninjured.
At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
