41-Year-Old Passenger Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near Farm-to-Market Road 145

CASTRO COUNTY, TX (December 2, 2024) – Wednesday evening, a 2-car accident on Farm-to-Market Road 168 killed Celso Garcia-Chingo.

Around 6:10 p.m., first responders arrived near Farm-to-Market Road 145 on November 13th.

Per reports, a 16-year-old male was driving a 2013 Acura ILX east on FM 145, approaching a stop-sign at the intersection.

For reasons under investigation, the driver failed to yield and struck a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado that was heading south on FM 168.

Paramedics quickly transported a severely injured passenger in the Acura to Amarillo Northwest Texas Hospital. Due to the extent of his condition, medics later pronounced 41-year-old Garcia-Chingo, of Hart deceased on November 15th.

Medics also took the teen Acura driver and two passengers, 24-year-old Raul Quino-Franco and 27-year-old Joaquin Rodriguez-Sima to University Medical Center in Lubbock.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
