Two Girls Dead, Driver Arrested after 3-Vehicle Collision near Riverside Avenue

RIALTO, CA (December 2, 2024) – Alenia and Neveah Flores were killed, and Marky Flores was hurt in a DUI crash on Walnut Avenue, late Sunday.

Around 11:00 p.m., police officers responded to the intersection of Walnut and Riverside Avenue.

Based on the initial investigation, a southbound blue Dodge Ram pickup-truck traveled through a red-light at the intersection. As a result, the Dodge T-boned a white Honda Accord that was making a left turn onto Walnut Avenue.

The impact pushed the Honda into a nearby tow-truck that was stopped along eastbound Walnut. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics declared the two juveniles inside the Honda deceased at the scene.

Their father, 25-year-old Marky Flores, sustained moderate injuries, while their 24-year-old mother, Valencia Avilez, remained uninjured. 

Following the crash, the pickup driver attempted to flee the scene but was later found and detained. Police booked 28-year-old Alexis Garcia of San Bernardino into the West Valley Detention Center for two counts of murder, one count of DUI and one count of felony hit-and-run.

Family members later identified the young victims as 3-year-old Alinah Flores, and her 4-year-old sister, Neveah Flores. Friends of the family started a GoFundMe to help the parents with medical and memorial expenses.
