68-Year-Old Cyclist Pronounced Dead after Bicycle Crash near South G Street

MCALLEN, TX (November 27, 2024) – Late Wednesday evening, Daniel Codina was killed in a bicycle collision on West Highway 83.

Police officers responded to the scene around 11:35 p.m., in the 900 block of West Highway 83 near South G Street on November 13th.

For reasons under investigation, the driver of a vehicle struck a bicyclist in the area. Upon arrival, first responders located Codina down on the road with life-threatening injuries.

Due to the extent of his condition, medics pronounced 68-year-old Codina, of McAllen deceased.

Meanwhile, the driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with officers.
