33-Year-Old USPS Worker Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Accident near Corrigan Street

SANTA ROSA, CA (November 26, 2024) – Monday evening, Irvin Hernandez was killed in a mail-truck collision on Northpoint Parkway.

The Santa Rosa Police Department responded to the scene around 5:00 p.m., near Corrigan Street.

Investigators say Hernandez was making his rounds in a U.S. Postal Service vehicle when he parked the mail-truck in the middle of Northpoint Parkway.

There, the driver of a GMC Denali SUV was traveling in an unsafe manner and crashed into the truck and Hernandez.

Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced 33-year-old Hernandez, of Santa Rosa deceased at the scene.

Meanwhile, the GMC driver suffered minor injuries and paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Police suspect that the driver sustained some kind of medical emergency at the time of the crash.
