One Killed in Pedestrian Collision near Anaheim Street

LONG BEACH, CA (November 26, 2024) – Late Sunday evening, a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Orange Avenue took the life of one person.

The incident occurred around 11:00 p.m., near Anaheim Street. First responders arrived to the scene shortly after receiving multiple dispatch calls.

Police officers say the driver of a newer model Chevrolet Silverado was heading west on Anaheim Street and struck a pedestrian. Investigators say the pedestrian was outside of a marked crosswalk at the time.

Upon impact, the Chevy driver fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting authorities. 

Responding medical personnel pronounced the male victim dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released his name or place of residency.
