13-Year-Old Student Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver near East Berry Street
FORT WORTH, TX (November 26, 2024) – Thursday, Apollo Rogers was fatally struck by Precious Crosby in a hit-and-run crash on Stalcup Road.
Authorities responded to the scene around 8:00 p.m., in the 3700 block of Stalcup Road near East Berry Street on November 14th.
According to the Fort Worth Police Department, Rogers was walking home with his sister and crossed in a marked crosswalk with a green light. There, the driver of a white Jeep Cherokee ran through a red-light and struck him.
Upon impact, the Cherokee driver did not stop and continued to drive away from the scene.
Paramedics quickly arrived and they transported Rogers to the Cook Children’s Hospital. Eventually, 13-year-old Rogers succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the hospital. Police added that Rogers was a student at Young Men’s Leadership Academy.
Six days later, 33-year-old Crosby turned herself into police. Officers are charging her with causing a collision resulting in death.
