Multiple Hospitalized after MTS Trolley Vs. Pickup Truck Collision near L Street
CHULA VISTA, CA (November 26, 2024) – Tuesday afternoon, an MTS trolley crash on Industrial Boulevard left seventeen people injured.
The Chula Vista Fire Department responded to the scene around 4:30 p.m., at the intersection of Industrial Boulevard and L Street.
According to a spokesperson from MTS, a pickup-truck broadsided a San Diego Metropolitan Transit System Trolley that was traveling north through the L Street grade crossing.
Reports indicate that at least seventeen people were hurt in the crash. Paramedics transported three of the patients to a nearby hospital for treatment of significant injuries.
Chula Vista Officials closed the area of L Street and Broadway temporarily as crews cleared the scene.
