Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Deadly Collision near Coe Avenue

SAN JOSE, CA (November 25, 2024) – Monday evening, one man was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Bird Avenue.

The San Jose Police Department responded to the scene around 8:45 p.m., near Coe Avenue on November 18th.

Investigators say the driver of a 2019 Chevrolet pickup-truck struck a man in the area. Upon impact, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting authorities.

Paramedics arrived and transported the male pedestrian to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Although, authorities have not yet released his name or place of residency.

Following preliminary duties, troopers were able to locate the involved driver. The suspect informed police that he was unaware that he hit someone and went home to treat his injuries from the crash.

Moreover, alcohol or drugs were ruled out as a potential factor in the crash. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
