24-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Crash near Cypress Avenue

REDDING, CA (November 25, 2024) – Early Sunday morning, Isaac James Palacio was killed in a pedestrian collision on Interstate 5.

Responding personnel arrived to the northbound lanes of the I-5 off-ramp near Cypress Avenue around 5:35 a.m.

California Highway Patrol officers say a 60-year-old Anderson resident was driving a 2014 Ford Fiesta and struck a man who was running from the left to right side of the road. 

Shortly after, a 38-year-old Dallas resident driving a 2012 Ford hit the man who was lying on the off-ramp.

Responding paramedics declared the male pedestrian dead at the scene. The Shasta County Coroner’s Office later identified the deceased man as 24-year-old Palacio, of Redding. 

The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the fatal Interstate 5 collision.
