2 Teenagers Killed, 1 Injured in Fiery Two-Vehicle Crash on Wood Road [Riverside, CA]
Male and Female Teen Pronounced Dead after Two-Car Collision near Van Buren Boulevard
RIVERSIDE, CA (November 25, 2024) – Early Saturday morning, a fiery two-vehicle crash on Wood Road left two teens dead and one hospitalized.
Authorities arrived to the scene around 5:40 a.m., at the intersection of Wood Road and Van Buren Boulevard.
Investigators say the driver of a northbound gray Lexus sedan ran past a red light while traveling at a high rate of speed.
As a result, the Lexus collided with a blue Scion traveling westbound through the intersection on a green light.
The impact sent the Lexus in a northerly direction before crashing into several poles and a tree. Moreover, the Lexus became ignited in flames.
Responding medical personnel declared the 17-year-old male Lexus driver and his 18-year-old female passenger dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the 17-year-old male passenger was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The single occupant of the Scion remained unharmed from the crash.
