One Fatally Struck in 2-Vehicle Collision near Kiefer Boulevard

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA (November 25, 2024) – Thursday morning, one victim was pronounced dead after a two-vehicle crash on Excelsior Road.

Authorities responded to the scene around 8:48 a.m., near Kiefer Boulevard.

According to reports, a Tesla driver attempted to pass multiple vehicles and collided with an oncoming Ford Fusion. The impact of the crash caused the Tesla to catch on fire while the Fusion overturned onto its roof. 

Responding emergency personnel declared the female driver of the Tesla dead at the scene. Officials said the Fusion driver was hospitalized for treatment of major injuries. 

California Highway Patrol officers closed both lanes of Excelsior Road for several hours as crews cleared the scene. Sacramento County Officials will provide more information about the fatal two-vehicle crash once available.
