33-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Semi-Truck Collision near 51st Avenue
PHOENIX, AZ (November 21, 2024) – Late Tuesday evening, Christopher Betterson-Bishop was killed in a red-light crash on Interstate 10.
First responders arrived to the scene around 10:00 p.m., near 51st Avenue on November 11th.
According to reports, Betterson-Bishop was driving south on 51st Avenue when he ran a red light at the I-10 Freeway overpass. At the same time, a semi-truck was traveling west on the I-10 access road, leading to a collision between the two vehicles.
Paramedics pronounced 33-year-old Betterson-Bishop dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, crews transported his female passenger to a nearby hospital for further treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. After the crash, the semi-truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.
At this time, an active investigation into the fatal red-light crash on Interstate 10 is still currently underway.
