Albert Herrera Dies in DUI Rollover Accident on Highway 87 [Randall County, TX]
49-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after DUI Collision near Canyon
RANDALL COUNTY, TX (November 21, 2024) – Early Sunday morning, Albert Herrera was fatally injured in a rollover accident on Highway 87.
Authorities arrived to the scene around 1:09 a.m., about six miles south of Canyon on November 10th.
Investigators say Herrera was driving a Ford F-250 south on the freeway when he drifted out of his lane and into the center median. Herrera then overcorrected and slid sideways before overturning.
Amidst the chaos, Herrera was thrown from the vehicle onto the road. Per reports, he was not wearing a seat belt at the time.
Paramedics arrived and transported 49-year-old Herrera, of Happy to Northwest Texas Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Following preliminary duties, authorities believe alcohol may have contributed to the crash.
Police officers have not yet released more information about the DUI rollover crash on US-87 yet but are actively pursuing leads and will update the public accordingly.
