Rick Ballard and Dalia Olivas Killed in DUI Collision on Rojas Drive [El Paso, TX]
29-Year-Old Man and 28-Year-Old Woman Killed in DUI Accident near Eastlake Boulevard
EL PASO, TX (November 20, 2024) – Late Saturday evening, Rick Ballard and Dalia Olivas were killed in a DUI collision on Rojas Drive.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Department responded to the intersection of Rojas Drive and Eastlake Boulevard around 11:40 p.m., on November 2nd.
For DUI related reasons, two vehicles collided in the area. Upon arrival, first responders located Ballard with life-threatening injuries.
Due to the extent of his condition, medics pronounced 29-year-old Ballard dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported 28-year-old Olivas to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, crews later pronounced Olivas deceased at the hospital.
Moreover, officers determined that the suspect was intoxicated at the time of the crash. Police officers planned to arrest him for two counts of intoxicated manslaughter.
Troopers blocked the intersection for several hours, and the Special Traffic Investigators conducted further investigation. No other information was added at this time.
