36-Year-Old Driver Pronounced Dead after Head-On Accident near Farm-to-Market Road 1539
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (November 20, 2024) – Wednesday morning, Francisco Costilla died, and Santos Garcia and Andrew Hinojosa were hurt in a crash.
Authorities responded to the scene on State Highway 359 around 6:30 a.m., near Farm-to-Market Road 1539 on October 23rd.
Investigators say Costilla was driving a Chevrolet Silverado north when he veered into the southbound lanes for reasons unknown. There, the Chevy collided head-on with a red 2005 Ford F-250.
Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced 36-year-old Costilla dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported 17-year-old Garcia to Christus Spohn in Alice and 19-year-old Hinojosa to Christus Spohn Shoreline in Corpus Christi.
Following preliminary duties, troopers considered fog as a potential factor in the collision. No other information was added by authorities, and the crash remains under active investigation.
