5-Year-Old Boy Fatally Injured in Solo-Vehicle Accident near Power Road Exit

MESA, AZ (November 20, 2024) – Friday evening, one boy was pronounced dead after a rollover crash on Highway 60.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety responded to the westbound lanes of the freeway around 6:45 p.m., near Power Road on October 25th.

For reasons under investigation, the driver of a vehicle lost control and crashed in the area, trapping all occupants inside.

Emergency crews extricated the trapped victims, and quickly transported them to a nearby hospital.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the 5-year-old boy dead at the hospital.

At this time, it was unknown if impairment played a role in the crash. Further investigation is currently ongoing.
