2 Dead, Michelle Renee Oster Arrested after Reckless Collision on State Route 410 [Enumclaw, WA]
72-Year-Old Man and 63-Year-Old Woman Killed in Multi-Car Crash near Mile Post 34
ENUMCLAW, WA (November 18, 2024) – Sunday, two people were killed and Michelle Renee Oster was arrested after a collision on State Route 410.
Police officers responded to the westbound lanes of the freeway around 11:30 a.m., near milepost 34 on October 13th.
The Washington State Patrol says Oster was weaving in and out of oncoming lanes. Oster’s vehicle struck the rear corner of a Subaru Outback, causing the Subaru to spin out into the oncoming lanes.
There, the driver of a Honda Fit struck the Subaru, causing life-threatening injuries to the Subaru occupants. Medics arrived and pronounced the a 72-year-old man and a 63-year-old woman dead at the scene.
In addition, multiple dogs inside the Subaru were injured and taken to a local veternarian.
Medics also say the 32-year-old driver of the Honda suffered from a fractured arm, and her 38-year-old passenger suffered spinal fractures as well as internal injuries.
Paramedics transported both injured victims and the suspect driver to Harborview Medical Center for further treatment.
Following preliminary duties, officers charged 63-year-old Oster with two counts of vehicular homicide, and two counts of vehicular assault. Her bail was established at $100,000, despite prosecutors pushing for it to be $500,000. She posted bond and was released the following day.
