Woman Dead, Mima Rodriguez Hospitalized, Andre Tucker Arrested after Head-On Crash on Highway 99 [Tehama County, CA]
22-Year-Old Chico Woman Pronounced Dead after DUI Crash near Tehama Vina Road
TEHANA COUNTY, CA (November 18, 2024) – Tuesday, Mima Rodriguez was hurt and Andre Tucker was arrested after a fatal crash on Highway 99.
Police officers responded to the scene around 1:48 p.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway near the Tehama Vina Road.
Reports indicate that the driver of a southbound 1997 Ford Expedition lost control while traveling at a high rate of speed. The Ford then collided with a 2015 Honda Accord, sending the Ford into a northbound 2012 Toyota Prius.
First responders pronounced the 22-year-old woman from Chico driving the Toyota dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics rushed the woman driving the Honda to Enloe Health for treatment of unspecified injuries. Authorities later identified her as 56-year-old Rodriguez, of Gerber.
The Ford driver, identified as 43-year-old Andre Tucker from Chico, was taken into custody before being hospitalized. Upon release, officials booked Tucker into Tehama County Jail for suspected DUI.
Tehama County Officials are asking those who witnessed the collision to call the Red Bluff CHP Office at 530-737-6746.
