1 Dead after Three-Vehicle Crash on State Route 530 [Arlington, WA]
One Fatally Struck in Speeding Collision near Jim Creek Road
ARLINGTON, WA (November 18, 2024) – Friday evening, one victim was pronounced dead after a three-vehicle crash on State Route 530.
The Washington State Patrol responded to the eastbound lanes of the freeway around 7:15 p.m., near Jim Creek Road on October 19th.
Investigators say the driver of a black Chevrolet pickup-truck attempted to turn onto eastbound State Route 530.
There, the driver of a Ford F-150 was traveling at speeds too high for weather conditions, and consequently rear-ended the Chevy. The initial impact pushed the Ford into the westbound lanes where it collided head-on with a Ford Escape SUV, driven by a 27-year-old man.
In addition, the Chevy went into a nearby ditch, causing serious injuries to both occupants. Moreover, the SUV driver sustained injuries. Paramedics transported all injured victims to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Due to the extent of their condition, medical personnel pronounced the driver of the pickup-truck dead at the scene. Authorities say they were the only occupant inside the vehicle.
Following preliminary duties, police say that speed is the primary factor in the deadly head-on crash on State Route 530, and authorities conducted further investigation.
