One Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Accident near Missile Road

WICHITA FALLS, TX (November 13, 2024) – Sunday evening, one man was fatally injured in a pedestrian collision on Central Freeway.

Around 8:30 p.m., the Wichita Falls Police Department responded to the northbound lanes of the freeway near Missile Road on October 14th.

Investigators say the driver of a vehicle struck a man who stepped out onto the roadway from the driver’s side rear passenger door. Upon arrival, troopers found the male pedestrian lying on the roadway with critical injuries.

Emergency responders quickly administered life-saving efforts. However, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Authorities have not yet released his name or place of residency.

Another 31-year-old male passenger exited their vehicle to aid the man when they were also hit by a passing vehicle. Paramedics transported the second victim to United Regional Health Care System for treatment of minor injuries.
