64-Year-Old Man Killed in Auto vs Pedestrian Crash near Belmont Avenue
FRESNO, CA (November 11, 2024) – Sunday afternoon, a pedestrian accident on Abby Street in central Fresno took the life of Ernest Yetter.
Around 1:30 p.m., police officers responded to the scene just south of East White Street.
According to police, the driver of a red Buick struck the pedestrian lying on the ground. Investigators say the pedestrian was intoxicated and laying down in the roadway.
Responding officers said the driver of the Buick initially stopped but fled moments later, and was eventually found at a nearby church.
Paramedics arrived and declared the pedestrian dead at the scene. Authorities later identified the victim as 64-year-old Ernest Yetter. His city of residence remains undisclosed to the public.
