Cyclist Pronounced Dead after Fatal Collision near Indiana Avenue

LUBBOCK, TX (November 11, 2024) – Sunday evening, Charles Clay was killed and Juan Vallin was involved in a bicycle crash on 103rd Street.

Dispatchers received calls just before 9:40 p.m., near Indiana Avenue on October 27th.

The Lubbock Police Department says 24-year-old Vallin was heading north in the 10200 block of Indiana Avenue when he struck a northbound cyclist.

Paramedics arrived and transported the cyclist, Clay, to University Medical Center in critical condition. On Wednesday afternoon, Clay succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

At this time, it is still unknown if Vallin faced charges. The deadly crash remains under active investigation.
