42-Year-Old Salinas Woman Pronounced Dead after Car vs Pedestrian Crash near Roy Diaz Street
SALINAS, CA (November 8, 2024) – Tuesday morning, a pedestrian accident on Airport Boulevard took the life of Yuriana Lopez.
Authorities responded to the scene near Roy Diaz Street, just north of Spreckels Junction.
According to reports, the driver of a vehicle struck Lopez in the area. However, further circumstances leading up to the incident remain unclear.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the female pedestrian dead at the scene. Later, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office identified the deceased victim as 42-year-old Lopez, of Salinas.
Police said the driver of the involved vehicle remained at the site of the crash and cooperated with authorities.
At this time, police officers are working to determine the circumstances that led to the crash. Investigators made it clear that drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the incident.
