Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Wilcrest Drive

HOUSTON, TX (November 8, 2024) – Wednesday evening, one man was pronounced dead after a pedestrian crash on Katy Freeway.

The Houston Police Department responded to the scene around 9:20 p.m., near Wilcrest Drive on October 16th.

Investigators say the driver of a vehicle struck a man who was walking in the eastbound lanes near Beltway 8

Due to the extent of his condition, medics pronounced the man dead at the scene. The authorities did not yet release his identity.

Furthermore, the driver remained and he was suspected of being intoxicated while driving. Police detained the driver, and it was unknown if they later released him.

No other information was released by the authorities, and the crash remains under investigation.
